Hrm I'm not even sure if that's the correct way of saying "blue tiger shrimps" but my Finnish isn't so good... I know "ja" ending is partitiivi, well anyways, if anyone can teach me the correct way of saying it that would be great.

But I digress...

I just got 12 blue tiger shrimps and would like to share my photos of them. they are really quite interesting... their eyes glow VERY orange and I can hardly see them walking/swimming about cause they blend in so well with the background.

Really cool looking shrimps in my opinion - just wanted to share my the new addition to the shrimp familia.

I have read a lot of conversations about these creatures at this forum, but never seen any photos before. I thought these shrimps must be pretty little things, but ... WOW!

Those were some beautiful creatures! I´m also wondering, where did you get them from and if they were very expensive?
And you don´t have to worry about your scills in finnish- our language is just sooo difficult

I must also say that don´t worry about your Finnish. We have or we have had many problems with English too(And I have really much for example with word order, the articles...English is just too difficult to me ).

Wow, they really are blue.
I'm not very much into shrimps anymore (that's for eating my fish fry) but those are really beautiful. Maybe I could find room for one more little tank with these and crystal red shrimps - I mean tulisukarapuja.

I bought these from Germany...from a shop called a1 wirbellose (i hope i spelled that right) they were a tad bit expensive...but not as bad as high grade crs...11.50 each. I've seen some sites sell them for an even more ridiculous price...up to 29 euros per shrimp

in regards to my finnish, i think in order for me to learn i have to have people constantly correct me so please, correct my Finnish! thanks rain for correcting the title btw

i do have 1 adult female who seems to have a saddle...that means hopefully eggs soon. maybe people will be interested in shrimps later?

Hmmm... Could it be that your shrimps are Neocaridina sp. blue-shrimps? If they are, here in Turku one shop sells them at the low price of 3,90€/shrimp... I have not seen them myself, so I can't say if they are as near as beutiful as the shrimps in your pictures, but if they are the same species, the price makes me wonder what's wrong with them.

Maybe they are just "leftovers" from someone whose shrimp population is already big enough.

they are not the same, these are Caridina cf. cantonensis “blue tiger." the price on these shrimps are what they are due to the fact that there's a big demand for them in asia and at the moment, germany seems to be the only place where they sell them for a reasonable price (plus, Germany is where they had first started to breed this colour variation).

That's great when you come talk to us even if you don't speak or write Finnish. And we Finnish people must solve problems anyway in English almost every day because in Finland we are "in child's shoes" (it's phrase) still in many cases (for example shrimps, snakes, spiders, lizards and so on)
